This position manages and coordinates the resources for the MSIP, EHN and Employee Wellness teams to support the delivery of services and support to the overall system. This position will support the Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness Department goals and strategic initiatives to create a safe and healthy workspace through fostering healthy workplace relationships, preventative strategies, and improve the culture of safety in the organization.

**Duties**:

- Develop standardized provincial MSIP policies, procedures, programs, tools and resources to ensure legislature compliance and support the MSIP program (MSIP Policy, Bariatric Policy, Patient Lift Device Policy)
- Report on musculoskeletal injury data, trends and injury prevention strategies to Health PEI leadership to inform them of future strategic planning needs to advance the program and advance initiatives to reduce injuries amongst Health PEI staff
- Create and deliver educational content to deliver to employees and leadership with respect to MSIP
- Compile injury data reports for Health PEI leadership on specific topics as needed/ requested
- Manage the Provincial Ergonomic Recover at Work Equipment Pool
- Monitor, enhance and report on MSIP training compliance to leadership and implement strategies to increase compliance
- Oversee all MSIP training programs across Health PEI (including provincial workstation/ office ergonomics training)
- Develop, implement, and oversee Health PEI’s Employee Health Nursing (EHN) Program and Policies for all Health PEI sites/ facilities/ employees
- Create and deliver educational content to deliver to employees and leadership with respect to EHN programs and initiatives
- Evaluate EHN policy compliance and program implementation through the development and tracking of outcome indicators (EHN program targets)
- Ensures the needlestick and sharp exposure protocol protects healthcare workers from contracting serious diseases in the workplace
- Monitor, enhance and report on EHN programming compliance to leadership and implement strategies to increase compliance

- Develop health and wellness policies, procedures, programs, tools and resource to ensure a robust employee wellness program for all Health PEI employees
- Chair the Provincial Employee Wellness Team meetings and committee
- Develop, coordinate, and implement health and wellness events and initiatives for Health PEI
- Provide support at the site level for health and wellness training programs and educational sessions (for example, Burnout Webinar)
- Ensure that Health PEI’s culture of safety embracing both patient and employee safety
- Ensure the MSIP and EHN teams are aligned to support safety and ingrain safety awareness for self, co-workers and patients into all work
- Provide support to the Director of Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness to report on employee incident metrics to the board and executive leadership in developing indicators to measure the safety culture across Health PEI
- Maintain satisfactory liaisons with other health, government, and/or community agencies and seek opportunities for enhanced partnerships
- Establish a process and relationship which facilitates integration of services across Health PEI
- Promote positive working relationships with all professional associations

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Must have successfully completed a post-secondary study from an approved school (Baccalaureate or Master’s degree) in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy; or must have a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
- Must be registered with their respective professional regulatory organization (PEI College of Physiotherapists, PEI College of Occupational Therapists, College of Registered Nurses of PEI)
- Considerable experience as a practicing Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse
- Considerable knowledge and experience in MSIP programming or EHN programming, wellness programming or equivalent
- Considerable relevant or demonstrated leadership/program management experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills for interaction at all levels of the organization
- The ability to influence others and move towards a common goal
- Knowledge and/or experience of the Health PEI organization would be an asset
- Strong organizational and workload management skills especially regarding effective use of time, setting priorities, managing priorities and follow-up
- Self-directed and able to take initiative as needed/appropriate
- Ability to think critically and analyze data for the purposes of effective program management and moving organizational processes forward
- Exceptional interpersonal, collaborative, facilitation, organizational, conflict management, and leadership skills
- Must be able to demonstrate experience of working in a results-based environment, where accountability for outcomes
