**Brief**
Core office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm (flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends if required for fundraising events).
**Responsibilities**:
**Development Team**
- Manage donor stewardship and support initiatives to grow monthly donor portfolio;
- Support development team in coordination and implementation of all events;
- Build and nurture constructive, supportive relationships with donors and the community;
- Practice ethical fundraising, aligned with the mission and values of the PAW.
- Build positive relationships with all staff and develop a deep understanding of the PAW’s programs.
- Ensure timely and accurate donation record keeping through various data import processes and manual data entry; update biographical data, log donor interactions and activities, and other information in donor base;
- Support the donor acknowledgement process producing regular communication, thank you letters and in memory/honor of cards;
- Assemble donor solicitation packages, create and update donor/program related forms, write solicitation letters for events.
- Perform data imports from third party donation platforms including Canada Helps, Benevity, PayPal and others as required.
- Run donor database queries and provide reports as required.
- Support the Development team with other duties, as required
**Finance Team**
- Utilize Sage 50 accounting software to maintain and update accounting records, including transaction coding and journal entries.
- Process accounts payable, including verifying and processing invoices, and payments. Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures.
- Perform accounts receivable tasks, including posting of customer payments, and issuing invoices.
- Daily cash and credit card reconciliations along with required journal entries.
- Update financial spreadsheets with daily transactions.
- Filling of invoices and documentation.
- Prepare bank deposits with all supporting documentation.
- Assist with bank and visa card reconciliations.
- Support bi-weekly payroll processing and employee expense reports.
- Administrative support during month end and budget preparation.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Skills and competencies**:
- Strong interest in fundraising and passion for delivering a positive experience to donors.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to connect with a range of stakeholders.
- Results-oriented individual and high comfort level with a hands-on approach to fund development.
- Knowledge and experience with general accounting principles and processes.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingualism essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to maintain detailed oriented approach.
- Excellent computer proficiency: word-processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, and data base management.
- Desktop publishing abilities: to create spreadsheets, presentations, social media graphics and visuals for other media using graphic design skills.
- Experience with Sage 50 accounting software and ADP Team Pay would be considered an asset.
- Flexible, self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Minimum of 2 years related work experience.
- Associate or Bachelor degree preferred. Desired courses of study: accounting, business, non-profit administration, fund development, or equivalent experience.
Pay: $38,000.00-$40,000.00 per year
