**EDI Education Trainer & Consultant**

Reporting to the Chief Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer, the EDI Education Trainer & Learning Consultant (EDI ETLC) plays a pivotal role in supporting the college in achieving transformational institutional change by supporting the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion strategic commitments and the college’s strategic priorities regarding EDI in education, research and organizational innovation.

**Responsibilities**:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
**Planning and Development**:

- Creates an overall plan to deliver training opportunities to meet strategic objectives of the college for EDI, strengthening cultural fluency and competency among staff and faculty from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive perspective
- Training design including training design analysis, performance/learning objectives and sequence, drafting training design strategy, learning evaluation, training design validation and piloting, support implementation, and evaluate organizational impact
- Ensures focus on EDI principles and embeds within materials
- Utilizes institutional knowledge to determine timing and frequency for delivery ensuring optimal results for participation and engagement
- Utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data sets identifies gaps and barriers and works to create/modify materials that support EDI educational objectives for diverse audiences
- Conducts feasibility analysis including budget, metrics, benchmarks, scope, technical platforms for delivery, etc.

**Design/Delivery**
- Updates and finalizes current EDI training program and preparation and production of training material
- Designs and/or reviews and delivers EDI content from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist perspective, ensuring AODA/UDL standards and accessibility of content and delivery for varied and diverse learners
- Designs and develops opportunities for learning taking into account external and internal influencing factors (i.e. cultural, social, political change/impacts)
- Liaises with faculties and departments in the planning and delivery of specially funded activities
- Liaises with internal staff, divisional EDI Steering Committees and other stakeholders to ensure specified training needs are addressed through the training content, material and methodology
- Preparation and production of training material

**Evaluation**:

- Training design evaluation including evaluation system and process, methods and media, implementation, and results/recommendations
- Creates evaluation tools that measure success in matching participant learning objectives to delivery and content and adjusts as needed
- Reviews impact on community through qualitative and quantitative data sets in evaluation tool
- Prepares reports for the Chief EDI Officer and senior leadership identifying learning outcomes and return on investments
- Identifies areas for improvement in participation and delivery and suggest solutions

**Demonstrates competency and fluency in learning and training system needs analysis, development and design, learning and talent development methodologies and training impact analysis, including**:

- EDI principles and organizational culture and its implications for workforce development strategies and transformation
- Embeds EDI and human rights principles in learning outcomes and measures effectiveness of training for both short
- and long-term impact
- Revises learning outcomes to ensure they align with training delivery and methodologies, college directives and committee requirements or other external influencers
- Works to create a scalable and long-term method for employee acquisition and acclamation to EDI goals and objectives taking into consideration Adult Learning goals and techniques
- Develops strategies for content delivery aimed at ensuring long term development and change as per organizational and cultural directives
- Addresses gaps in learning opportunities that could be provided through cost effective and long-term methods
- Supports strategic change in the organization by implementing effective process planning tools
