The Building Maintenance Worker will be responsible for room maintaining common areas and guest rooms in optimal operating condition by performing repairs and preventative maintenance as needed. Their job duties are critical in the effective management of the hotel, as cleanliness is of the highest priority in the hospitality industry. Leadership, problem-solving, and decisiveness are critical for success in this role.

This role will report directly to the Hotel Manager.

**DUTIES**:

- Responsible for the general maintenance and repair of plumbing, fixtures, doors, windows, and their hardware, floor and ceiling tiles, light fixtures, room fixtures, walls and wall coverings.
- Repair and maintain HVAC units, make up air units and maintain a regular schedule of filter changes.
- Responsible for the storage, and safekeeping handling of all tools, equipment and related parts and supplies.
- Responsible for vandalism clean up and repair, within skill level.
- Maintain outside grounds (remove snow, ice, and debris, spray and remove weeds, sweep and clean gutters).
- Prepare, paint and decorate interior and exterior surfaces, as required.
- Pressure washing, floor buffing, and carpet cleaning of surfaces.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electricity preferred.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and be able to push carts weighing up to 200 lbs
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Previous maintenance experience in the hospitality industry
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels.
- Strong customer service orientation and skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.

**SHIFT INFORMATION**:

- 8-hour shift or occasionally overnight shift
- 1-2 days during the weekend
- Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist those without a visa._
