The Marketing & Communications (MarCom) team manages the MaRS brand, supports internal business unit marketing efforts, and helps our startups and the ecosystem gain national and international exposure.

**About the role**:
The Coordinator, Marketing is responsible for implementing marketing strategies across a range of campaigns and working with internal teams to develop marketing and communications assets, ensuring that all deliverables are on time and on brand. The role also includes exploring creative and experiential marketing tactics to increase MaRS brand awareness and reach new audiences in innovative ways.

**This is a 1-year contract.**

**Key **Responsibilities**:
**Coordinate Marketing Projects**:

- Monitor inbound requests and work with the Marketing & Communications team to deliver on a range of marketing requests, including website updates, design assets, newsletters and social media posts.
- Work with internal teams to implement integrated marketing campaigns.
- Use Asana and project management best practices to ensure deliverables are completed on time.
- Identify any key issues or risks that impact the meeting of pre-established targets and propose and implement solutions and improvements.

**Design**:

- Work with external agencies to develop design assets, writing detailed creative briefs and ensuring deliverables are met on time.

**Social media and content support**:

- Write social media content, schedule approved posts in Hootsuite and respond to community inquiries.
- Support on video and photography shoots as well as video editing and captioning.
- Support on event content, as needed.

**Analytics and tracking**:

- Analyze marketing campaign results and provide actionable recommendations for improved performance.
- Analyze SEO and site usage statistics to maximize information delivery, enhance usability of content and increase audience engagement.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree or college diploma/certificate, with a focus on marketing or communications preferred.
- 1+ year experience working in a marketing role
- Exceptional organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects with tightly prescribed timelines
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communicator and creative thinker
- A keen eye for aesthetics and visual hierarchy
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous work environment
- An understanding of project management best practices and collaboration
- Knowledge of UX and web design best practices
- Strong analytical skills (including mastery of Microsoft Excel) and experience with reporting and data analysis.
- Tools: Hootsuite, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, WordPress, Google Analytics, Asana, social media advertising platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google, YouTube), MailChimp, Eventbrite, Microsoft Office

**Salary Range**:$40,600 - $50,000, benefits and paid time-off.
