**Position Type/Hours**: Full-Time Permanent, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, 35 hours weekly, plus overtime as required
**Annual Compensation**:$45,383.00 to $56,909.00 commensurate with education, skills and experience.
The Department Assistant - ICT is responsible for secretarial and administrative support services to the Senior Manager, as well as administrative support to various ICT projects. The position will also provide ICT learning and development support to Board employees and act as a champion for the use of ICT tools to maximize efficiency and effectiveness across all Board activities in support of the achievement of Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board’s vision and mission.
Displays understanding of department projects and priorities and organizes personal work/schedule in a manner that is congruent with those priorities. Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs of stakeholders (internal and/or external) and proactively works to ensure that these needs are met or exceeded. Behaves in accordance with SMCDSB’s vision of delivering quality service to support excellence in education. Readily accepts and ensures behaviours are in keeping with faith principles and Catholic values.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- 2 Year College Diploma - Secretarial/administrative support studies
- 1-3 years related administrative experience, preferably in an education environment.
- Demonstrated capability to deliver on multiple tasks to deadline and consult with colleagues when setting priorities within restricted timelines.
- Strong time management, organizational, administrative, clerical, and written and oral communication skills are mandatory for this position.
- Previous experience working with critical and confidential corporate data systems/sources. Incorporates personal work practices that ensure confidentiality of information is maintained at all times.
- Excellence in client/customer service experience is a must.
- Demonstrated intermediate experience using Word and Excel. Demonstrated success in: the creation of “Help Docs”, embedding screenshots, formatting of tables and columns, utilizing styles, creating and running a mail merge, able to sort and filter, able to import data from external data sources, able to use common formulas; is mandatory.
- Previous experience and demonstrated accuracy in working with relational databases and ensuring accuracy of data entry.
- Demonstrated experience in data testing and validation. Able to compare data sources and identify inconsistencies/errors
- Demonstrated experience in purchasing and accounting processes.
- Ability to accurately enter, check and proofread numerical information.
- Working knowledge of the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive.
- Previous experience designing and delivering one-on-one orientation/training on corporate-wide technology systems such as: phones, relational student databases, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using student-centred database systems, relating to course and student information, including Ministry registers, generation of reports, transcripts, report cards, class lists and certificates of completion in accordance with Board and Ministry requirements is desirable.
