**Support Worker Position**

Are you energetic, technologically adept, enjoy walking, nature, bird watching, playing cards and board games?

A young man in his early 30’s and his family are looking for an easygoing and trustworthy person who can bring enrichment to his life. You will provide scheduled, weekly support to this man, in his family’s home and aid him in exploring new opportunities in the **Ajax **community as you slowly build trust and rapport. This supporter role would start off online for the first few weeks, while you learn about this young man and he learns about you. Once comfortable, you would start to provide support in the family home. You will need to be comfortable wearing PPE while in the family’s home.

As a **self-employed support worker**, you will be able to assist with cooking/meal prep, light housekeeping tasks, planning and engaging interest-based activities and community participation when needed. There may be occasions where you need to run an errand with the young man, to pick something up or get something they have ordered. This young man continues to build upon his independence and is growing his skills each day. While being led by the family, you will be mindful and provide compassionate support while the man gains new life experiences. You are open to learning and understanding anxiety and are confident to support him during times of heightened anxiety or distress.

**Available**:Monday,** _**Tuesday and/or Wednesday’s 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (4 hours weekly) **_You can choose which two days work for your schedule._
- (There is the possibility for more hours to be added and some flexibility with days, the time is set and support needed for those set hours)._

**Hourly Rate**: $25.00/h
- **Key Requirements**_
- Must have **valid FULL G Driver’s license **and own vehicle
- Completion of Vulnerable Sector Police check
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Proof of full COVID vaccination
- 2 work references

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 per week
