Olympian Swim Club (“OSC”) is one of the Alberta Capital Region’s premiere swim clubs, committed to the development of youth in accordance with its motto: winning in swimming, and succeeding in life

OSC is looking for a mature, tech-savvy and driven Assistant Head Coach to propel the Club to the next level of size, performance and results. OSC runs programs at multiple locations in the Capital region, with approximately 150 competitive-level athletes, plus an introductory swim program, and a complement of twenty full
- and part-time coaches. The Assistant Head Coach delivers the technical program to the Performance group of athletes, and is part of a team of staff responsible for delivering an outstanding swim club experience.

WHAT MOVES YOU:

- You’re all about “customer” service; your customers are swimmers, their parents, the Head

Coach, other Club staff, facility staff, and other competitors and swim clubs.

- forward and empathetic manner.
- You’ve got a clear and deep understanding of the technical aspects of swimming, and enthusiastically deliver that knowledge to your athletes.
- You’re constantly innovating, looking for efficiencies and better ways to accomplish tasks reach goals.
- You’ve got integrity and a strong work ethic in spades
- You take all feedback
- about the program, the Club, and your performance
- as an opportunity to better serve your “customers”.
- You’re a master juggler — of projects, that is. From routine weekly and monthly tasks to larger scale initiatives, you keep it all on track.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

- Have a direct reporting line to the Head Coach. You are accountable for making the Club, the technical program, and the rest of the coaching staff look good.
- Deliver excellent coaching to the Performance group of athletes, mindful of their specific stage of development as swimmers, athletes, and youth.
- Develop short
- and long-term athlete development and training plans, specific to the swimmer and group, incorporating both aquatic and dryland components.
- Participate in the development of group and Club training schedules, mindful of training pool availability and space allocations.
- Participate in the organization of and attendance at swim meets, including entries, meet shells, travel arrangements.
- Pitch in whenever possible with other Club initiatives, including social media, mentoring of junior level coaches, fostering community and collaboration in everything you do.
- Commit to ongoing professional and skill development.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE
- You have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- NCCP Certified.
- A clear Criminal Record (including vulnerable sector).
- You’re familiar with swimming-related software programs and are a wiz with Google Workspace

Administrator and apps, Poolqueue, Meet Mobile, various timing systems, Slack App, and SwimCanada Registrar.
- You’re comfortable with learning and becoming proficient with new systems and gaining knowledge of products and services.
- You have excellent leadership, collaboration, time management, and organizational skills.
- You are an enthusiastic, hard-working, and highly motivated team player.
- You enjoy multitasking and using your skills to support projects and initiatives as they arise.

WHAT YOU'LL GET
