**The Opportunity**

The Senior Specialist, Analytics and Reporting will be accountable for the design, implementation and output of systems, processes, and tools to enable the effective collection, analysis and reporting of data and results of relevant Health, Safety, Environment and Risk. This is a permanent position located in Toronto, Ontario.

Other accountabilities for this role include:

- Partner with the HSER and third-party providers to provide direct output support to the Base Metals leadership in their HSER analysis, reporting requirements and generates consolidated analysis of the Base Metals business as a whole.
- Manage the development of automated HSER reports and reporting tools to achieve efficiency and standardization.
- Responsible for ensuring data quality in the Vale HSER system of record and Vale reporting platforms through monitoring and quality verification routines
- Manage the process to track, report, and record corrective actions to the Vale Base Metals leadership teams for Safety, Health, Environment and Risk issues affecting the business

**About You**

**Education**
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, applied science or related field
- Post Graduate completion of a Health & Safety program or Health & Safety certification (CRSP) preferred

**Experience**
- 10+ years of experience in similar field with a focus on Health, Safety and Risk Management or Data Analytics
- Experience with safety systems and methods (RCA, RAM, CTA)
- Experience in underground mining is considered an asset
- Leadership & people management (mentoring, managing, influencing others)

**Skills**
- Strong work & business management skills (resource, planning & work prioritization management, results focused, finance & budgeting knowledge)
- Balanced functional knowledge in mining, metallurgy, or chemical process
- Expert knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations, international standards and Injury Management
- Good understanding of International Council of Mining & Metals (ICMM) guidelines on Safety & Health
- Knowledge and understanding of process safety and critical control management
- Familiar with ISO 14001/45001
