Program Assistant

Applications are invited for the regular position of part-time Program Assistant in the Workforce Development & Community Partnerships Division. The starting salary is $28.44/hr for up to 24 hours work week. Additional hours may be required at peak times during the year such as start or end of term. The position is located at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus.
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Act as the primary point of contact for external and internal stakeholders within the community
- Provide comprehensive program knowledge to current and prospective newcomers interested in the Immigrant Language Training Programs
- Maintain and organize case files for students and employers
- Arrange and assist with program admission interviews, scheduling, and evaluation process
- Participate in program orientation activities
- Represent the Immigrant Language Training programs at functions, both externally and internally (community events, advisory committees, employer events, associations, etc.). Assist in the coordination of job fairs and employer events
**Qualifications**:
- Two (2) year diploma in Business, Social Sciences, Social Service Worker, Humanities, Applied Health, Mathematics, Science or related field of study
- Minimum two (2) years experience working with newcomers or diverse client groups
- Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Knowledge of community services, labour market, occupational requirements, and other resources
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to reach a resolution in difficult situations
- Must have a valid driver’s license and daily access to vehicle
