**New Business Development Manager (90730)**

**Where the Chemistry Happens**:
As a New Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for direct account sales strategy and execution. Your objective is to deeply understand the Canadian market including, but not limited to, Consumer Goods and Energy segments, to prioritize an agreed set of target customers - in alignment with Regional BU leaders; to put in place a sales strategy and plan to capture new business opportunities, and to lead and help develop other team members to deliver a significant portion of Canada’s growth plan. Hence, you must demonstrate BASF’s leadership competencies, while cooperating closely with satellite BUs with local sales and marketing presence for selected business cluster(s).

**Formula for Success: You Will**:

- Define and execute sales strategy in collaboration with regional BUs and Canadian colleagues for key industry segments of relevance to Canada, including Consumer Goods and Energy.
- Host sales and market strategy reviews with respective Regional BU colleagues.
- Lead account reviews with select team members on account strategies, account plans and sales pipeline progress.
- Engage directly with customers and satellite BU colleagues to identify and capture growth opportunities in Canada, along an agreed prioritization of target customers.
- Achieve sales revenue targets, interface with key influencers at all levels of customer.
- Have a deep understanding of relevant competitors.
- Develop and drive a sales pipeline for new business.
- Retain sales and business relations with key strategic customers in Canada.
- Lead and coach your team.

**Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You**:

- Bachelor’s in Science, Engineering, Business, or related areas. MBA is a plus.
- 15+ years strategy and/or sales management experience in one or more key industries in Canada such as Chemicals, HI&I, Pharma, Human & Animal Nutrition, Plastics, Mining, Energy and Oil & Gas.
- 5+ years’ experience in both customer relationship management and negotiation required.
- Knowledge of Chemical industry preferably in Canada.
- Must demonstrate a clear understanding of the value chain both upstream and downstream (cost to serve).
- Must be able to demonstrate capability to and previous success in influencing others.
- Ability to work with, present to, and influence at various levels/functions, including senior executives, partners, and customers.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
