NextStar Energy (NSE) is a joint venture between LG Energy Solution and Stellantis.
NextStar Energy will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begin production at the site on over 200-acres of land on Twin Oaks Drive near Banwell Road.
The manufacturing facility is targeted to have an annual production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.
Production operations planned to launch in the first quarter of 2024.
As a** Technical Shift Leader**, you will be responsible for leading and supervising the technical team during designated shifts. Your primary focus will be on overseeing the technical operations, ensuring equipment and machinery functionality, and maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency. You will play a crucial role in managing technical issues, providing guidance to team members, and promoting a safe and effective work environment.
**What the company will provide**:
For duration of the 2-3 month, the employee will be working closely with our expert BM Technician through mentoring programs:
- Will train, develop and gain knowledge and skills in battery manufacturing and Lithium Battery from incumbent technicians.
- Obtain Hands on experience how to solve equipment alarms and abnormalities in the line.
- Collaborate and learn with internal teams to learn different sectors in technician fields: Production| Process| Equipment
**What you will bring**:
As a BM shift Leader who received intensive 2-3 months training, you will be able to do following but not limited:
- Able to train, develop and educate other technician in local sites.
- Compliant with health/safety/environmental/fire regulations and 3R5S standards.
- Checking the equipment condition before production
- Manage equipment alarms and final check on equipment alarm actions
- Manage attendance and take assignment of BM Technicians
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Highschool graduation
- It is necessary to be able to manage and solve equipment alarms and abnormalities in the line though BM technicians, and to be able to control and manage BM technicians.
- At least 1 year of maintenance experience in automated continuous production equipment.
- Must have at least one of the following knowledges.
- Machine knowledge to understand the structure and operating principle of automated mechanical equipment
- Knowledge for problem identification and action via HMI of Siemens PLC
- Machine/control knowledge to understand the structure and operation principle of pneumatic equipment and action
- Knowledge to identify faults in wiring and electrical devices according to electrical wiring diagrams and specifications
- Willing and able to travel and train abroad for up to 2-3 month upon hiring
- Legally authorized to work in US / Canada
- Able to work 12-hour shifts
