**Summary**:
Axis Family Resources Ltd. is hiring **Temporary Full Time Family Support Worker. **The goal of the Family Support Worker is to provide short-term, outcome-focused assistance to families experiencing significant challenges with the parent-child or parent-adolescent relationship. This program will provide support to families in person and virtually. Crisis interventions include conflict resolution, immediate modeling of parent techniques, facilitation of meetings, supervised access referrals, and additional work alongside the child. The Family Support team works closely together to help reach the best outcomes for both the child and the family.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Upholds Axis Family Resources’ agency values
- Maintains Axis’s policy of Confidentiality, Code of Ethics and other Agency policies and procedures
- Assists youth with independent living such as attending appointments, planning social activities, providing support and any other areas identified
- Acting as a positive role model and provides emotional support and feedback for persons served
- Encourages and facilitates participation of individuals in program while providing opportunities to explore new activities and interests
- Creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere in order to enhance the programs appeal to persons served
- Identifying gaps, cultivating personable professional relationships with stakeholders, and communicating regularly with social worker, guardian, and others involved in program plans
- Compile and complete tracking reports in a timely manner

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- 2 year Diploma in Social Work, Child and Youth Care or related field, or training and experience.
- 1 year related work experience, or the equivalent in education, training, and experience an asset. Preferred training in working with families who are vulnerable or in crisis.
- Reliable transportation, a class 5 drivers’ licence and safe driving record abstract
- Current Level 1 First Aid (including CPR) Certification (must be completed within 3 months of hire)
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Good verbal and written reporting skills
- Good organization, computer literacy, as well as time and house management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of theory, principles and practices working with Trauma, FASD, Autism, or other challenges
