London, Canada Givens Engineering Inc. Full time

Standard Parts Manager

Givens Engineering is a manufacturer of cranes, manipulators, and other material-handling machinery located on Veterans Parkway in London. We have a sister company in Perrysburg, Ohio, Givens Lifting Systems, which you may have to visit from time to time.

You would be in charge of the machining, welding, assembly and storage of "standard parts", which are machine components that are assembled together in batches of 10 to 50, typically.

You would supervise 1 assembler and assign work to 1 welder and 3 CNC machinists.

You would monitor stock levels of over 100 assemblies and decide which parts had priority for fabrication and assembly.

You would be involved with quality inspection of in progress and completed standard parts.

All purchased parts for standard part batches would be ordered by you using Quickbooks.

At times, you would assemble parts yourself or take on other roles in the shop in a time of need.

You would be working under our Plant Manager, Chuck Koopmans, who has many years of experience here.

We manufacture everything we sell right here in our large London shop. We employ engineers, technologists, welders, electricians, machinists and accounting and sales staff. We're Canada's largest manufacturer of manipulators and of light cranes. We also sell special-purpose machinery, such as conveyors and fixtures.
- Experience with machining or welding is valuable
- Ability to understand drawings would be essential
- Ability to read and understand measurements, as well as use various measuring tools would be essential
- Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds would be helpful
- Supervisory experience would be very useful

Health and Dental Benefits package is available after 3 months; a pension plan begins after 1 year.
