**Position Summary**

As a Technician - Fleet Services within our **Fleet Services Department**, is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on Peel Regional Police vehicles as required, commissioning and decommissioning vehicles.

**Responsibilities**

**What will your typical day look like?**
- Performs preventative maintenance on PRP vehicles, which includes, but is not limited to, oil and filter changes, brake inspections, tire changing.
- Commissions new vehicles which involves the installation of decals, light bars, prisoner cages, etc.; decommissions old vehicles, which involves the removal of all decals, prisoner cages, lights, etc. Operates tow truck in a safe manner.
- Maintains the shop equipment, including the tire machine, tire balancer, etc.
- Assists in maintaining the parking lot and new vehicle pound.
- Operates the Fleet Services van to perform minor repairs at divisions and bureaus.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

**You are someone with**:

- A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional mechanical/vehicle maintenance courses and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of two years related experience required
- Experience operating a tow truck preferred
- Working knowledge and ability to use all hand tools to perform automotive maintenance and repairs preferred
- Working knowledge of servicing motorcycles preferred
- Working knowledge of servicing diesel vehicles preferred
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform all activities
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence (Class G) with full driving privileges

The salary range for this **permanent, full-time **position is **$56,998.00 - $89,401.00 **per annum and is complemented by a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance after a six (6) month waiting period; and the OMERS Pension Plan.
