Fund and Community Development Coordinator

**Reports To**

Executive Director

**Summary**

The Fund and Community Development Coordinator is responsible for the planning, management and execution of sponsorship and fundraising efforts that achieve annual fund development targets and provides support in developing and implementing communication and marketing plans to increase community presence. Working closely with the Executive Director and other fundraising professionals on the team, the Fund and Community Development Coordinator adheres to Northumberland United Way brand standards, as directed by United Way Canada while developing and executing localized marketing plans, as well as localized fund development plans. This Coordinator researches and identifies potential donors and cultivates these potential donors. The coordinator will also be required to monitor their targets to ensure their performance, maintain donor databases and work with the volunteer & fundraising committee.

**Job Duties**

**Funds and Community Development**
- Achieve annual fundraising and sponsorship targets
- Maintain positioning as a charity of choice in Northumberland
- Manage and steward relationships with donors and develop new donors across Northumberland County
- Manage and build the Workplace Campaign Program.
- Develop, execute and lead fundraising and special events in communities across Northumberland County, in tandem with other United Way team members
- Cultivate local volunteers to assist with goals
- Assist, complete and/or support compelling grant proposals
- Act as an ambassador of the Northumberland United Way, ensuring that all opportunities to promote the work of the United Way are maximized at the event.
- Create and share timely reports on the progress of tactics and programs to support targets.
- Other duties shall be assigned as required.

**Marketing & Media Relations**
- Assist with the preparation and implementation of long-term and short-term marketing plans to support community and fund development goals.
- Maintain a strong community profile through various media platforms.
- Copywrite impact stories, volunteer appreciation, member and donor letters and other related communications.
- Develop creative and design following United Way branding guidelines.
- Manage Media Related to Public & Fundraising Events in tandem with other staff members

**Requirements**:

- Preference is given to those who are a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE).
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in related Business, Marketing/Communications, Fundraising and/or Public Relations, Volunteer Management or Media field.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in a fundraising/revenue generation role with a proven track record of success in funds development.
- 3-5 years of experience in planning and implementation of special events with a high attention to detail and comfort level for managing critical paths.
- Experience working for a non-for-profit and knowledge of the philanthropic sector in Canada, including CRA regulations and laws, to ensure compliance with the standards of professional conduct for fundraisers.
- High energy, results-oriented, well organized and have a drive to exceed expectations.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office,
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check required before first day of work
- Valid Driver’s License with Use of Own Vehicle
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

**Work Conditions**
- Based out of the Northumberland United Way office in Cobourg, with some travel to program and event locations.
- Monday to Friday with flexibility to attend events on non-traditional hours such as weekends and evenings, based on operational needs.
- Manual dexterity required to operate telephone, computer and peripherals.
- Interacts with employees, management, volunteers and the public at large.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Fast-paced environment and position.

Pay: $43,000.00-$53,000.00 per year
