**Location**: Centennial Park YMCA Day Camp (White Rock)

**Terms**: Seasonal Contract, Full-Time; 40 hours/week (option to continue in the fall with reduced/varied hours)

**Shift**: Monday - Friday shifts vary between 7:45am - 5pm

**Start Date**: June 22, 2023

**End Date**: August 28, 2023

**Salary**: $16.75 per hour

**Reports To**: Day Camp Director

**This position may be funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.**

Looking for summer work with a values-driven non-profit organization?Interested in facilitating fun and creative activities and games and making a real difference in kids’ lives?Looking to build valuable career experience toward a future in childhood education?If you answered yes to any of these questions, we’re looking for you YMCA Day Camp Group Leaders enjoy working in a fun, fast-paced environment facilitating activities and games for children ages 5 - 12.**Who we’re looking for**:

- You have a positive attitude and can make any situation better
- You exude passion about delivering the best experience for kids.
- You’re flexible and open-minded.
- You have energy to spare.
- You’re a calm, cool and collected team member.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Facilitate games and activities for campers
- Engage and build relationships with campers
- Ensure all campers are safe and supervised at all times
- Follow all YMCA policies and procedures
- To be Professional (be on time, appropriately dressed, ensure confidentiality, etc.)

**Requirements**:

- Experience working with children ages 5-12
- Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR - B or C & AED
- Available to work full time hours for entire contract

**Canada Summer Jobs Criteria**
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International participants are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents**.**
