A multi-award winning facility, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) has earned a solid reputation as North America’s leading Convention Centre, and has held over 18,000 events and hosted over 55 million guests since opening for business in October 1984. Covering over 2 million square feet, the MTCC is Canada’s largest convention facility, boasting seven exhibit halls, two large capacity ballrooms, and a beautiful 1,232 seat theatre among its many assets. It also houses 70 fully furnished meeting rooms, and 167,000 square feet of beautifully decorated pre-function spaces.

The MTCC is conveniently connected to Toronto’s Union Station railway and transit station through the Skywalk and is also accessible via the city’s underground PATH system.

MTCC is a Crown Corporation of the Province of Ontario and is proudly governed and led by an executive management team and an independent board of directors comprised of senior private sector business leaders. The mandate of the company is to position the Centre as a world-class destination, while helping to generate economic benefit to the community and at the same time remaining financially self-sufficient.

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre prides itself on its professionalism, responsiveness, and dedication to making every event it hosts memorable for its customers and guests alike.

**Job Duties**:

- Assist Kitchen and / or Stewarding employees in arranging food and beverage offerings on counters
- Responsible for cash handling, POS system and/or tap system to process purchase of food and beverage items
- Provide exceptional customer service to our internal team members, suppliers and customers
- Restocking and maintaining supplies for the Employee Hub, as well as maintaining and cleaning the kitchen, equipment, and washing dishes
- Refilling ice hopper for the Fountain drink dispenser
- Clean utensils, cooking and storage equipment
- Clean and sanitize serving areas each day or as needed
- Monitor area to ensure employees are adhering to the Employee Hub standards.
- Adhere to food preparation instructions and serve all food and beverages according to cafeteria safety and sanitary policies
- Responsible for bringing employee comments, concerns or violation of set company policies/procedures to the immediate attention of management team to ensure the smooth ongoing operation of the employee hub
- Some heavy lifting up to 50lbs is involved
- Maintain, rotate, and replenish food items in accordance with proper food handling techniques.
- Requisition orders from kitchen for menu items.
- Communicate with kitchen on daily basis to understand products served and weekly menu offerings.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager

**Job Skills and Requirements**
- High school graduates or equivalent
- Food Handlers certification
- Smart Serve certification
- Required to have their own safety shoes
- Positive attitude with strong communication skills who takes initiative in day-to-day responsibilities and work well in a team environment
- Self‑motivated, with the ability to make effective decisions
- Ability to consistently stand and walk through out shift as well perform regular bending, lifting, reaching and carrying duties
- This position includes evening shifts during weekdays and weekends.

**_As per the LiUNA Local 506 Collective Agreement, in order to maintain part-time status, once you have worked for a full calendar year, you will be required to have worked a minimum of 1,200 hours for that calendar year, and each subsequent calendar year, in order to maintain part-time status._**
