Job Summary
The Product Consultant under the direction of Supervision and Management, will primarily be responsible for opening and closing the store location, greeting and age-gating customers, discussing our range of OCS-regulated products, and operating tills. This individual must be a high-energy, dynamic individual with an engaging level of enthusiasm, experience in retail/sales, superior customer service skills, and maintain a high level of product knowledge. This role will also replace sold stock and ensure satisfactory inventory levels. The P/C must be 19 years of age or older, possess CannSell certification, and have previous retail or sales experience.

Job Duties
- Greet customers and discuss products with the goal of developing a lasting customer relationship and a superior level of customer service and satisfaction
- Upsell to customers
- Adapt communication style in order to deliver information effectively to a range of individuals
- Regular communication with the Shift Supervisor to promote cohesion and delegate tasks
- Consistently maintain a high degree of professionalism to promote a strong, positive company image
- Attempt to calm irate customers with active listening while attempting to resolve the issue to the best of your abilities and deferring to Supervisors/Management when appropriate
- Check identification of store entrants and ensure only legal-aged individuals enter the store
- Take orders from customers and prepare products for purchase
- Ensure that customers are satisfied with the issue resolution as well as the resolution process itself
- Perform all opening and closing procedures to ensure the building’s optimal condition
- Work in partnership with the Cabbage Brothers team to maximize store sales and in-store presence
- Relay inquiries to the appropriate individuals
- Prepare sales and accept cash, credit card, or automatic debit payment
- Track inventory, assemble orders, conduct cycle counts, restock cash & storage shelves accurately and efficiently
- Cash in & Cash out registers at the beginning and end of each day noting any discrepancies and reporting the same to management
- Facilitate periodic cash skims
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge
- Ensure safety and security protocols are observed by staff and customers
- Ensure the work environment, including but not limited to tills, front desk, bathrooms, and the lunchroom, is kept clean and tidy, and free of clutter
- Follow all opening and closing procedures to maintain good condition of the Store
- Maintain compliance with all Federal, Provincial, and Municipal regulations
- Merchandise displays
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Ability to operate a POS system
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- CannSell certification required
- CannSell Expert an asset
- Cannabis industry experience an asset
- Customer service, sales, or retail experience
- Excellent communication skills
Work Conditions
- Attendance and participation in training
- Extended periods of standing and other physically demanding conditions
- Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 60lbs
- Long hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Interaction with customers/clients and the public at large
- Possibility of occasional overtime
