**Work Location**: Operations Centre, 675 Tice Road, Pelham

The Water and Wastewater Operator II is responsible for all aspects of the water and wastewater infrastructure and distribution system. This includes repairs, installations and operations of water and wastewater mains, water services, wastewater laterals, water meters and water meter equipment. In addition, this position performs work projects that include excavating lands, performing repair and maintenance processes to other Town infrastructure. This position is also required to perform winter roadway maintenance including snow clearing and sanding during the winter roadway maintenance season and to provide assistance in the Beautification Division as required.

**Duties Include**:

- Responsible for performing weekly and quarterly sampling of the Pelham water distribution system. This includes Bacteriological, THM’s and lead samples along with chlorine residuals
- Responsible for performing repairs and installations of water meters
- Respond to after hour water and wastewater emergencies including sewer backups, emergency water shut offs and water main breaks and assist other divisions responding to emergency work
- Maintain and update all appurtenances pertaining to the Town of Pelham water distribution system following the Town’s quality management system as well as all provincial legislation
- Operate municipal snowplows and sanders on designated routes during the winter maintenance season
- Operate municipal equipment such as the vacuum truck, backhoes, mini excavator, dump trucks, etc. to maintain all aspects of the Town’s infrastructure
- Work according the provisions of the _Occupational Health and Safety Act_ and regulations of the _Construction Act_.
- Provide assistance in the Roads and Beautification departments as required, in the absence of full time staff
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of previous experience
- Class two Water and Wastewater license - government issued
- Valid DZ driver’s license
