**Position Summary**:
**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree (required)
- Professional accounting designation (CPA/CA/CMA/CGA) or actively in pursuit
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, and Word)

**Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience (required)
- Prior payroll experience considered an asset
- Prior experience with QuickBooks Desktop considered an asset
- Prior experience in the manufacturing industry considered an asset

**Key Responsibilities (Not limited to)**:
Payroll Support
- Payroll administrative duties; working closely with operational leaders to enter, analyze and verify timesheets
- Act as secondary payroll lead and back up for Payroll Lead and other HR staff in payroll and benefits areas where required
- Manage elements of the payroll cycle on a rotating basis or as assigned
- Contribute to the accuracy and integrity of the payroll function within the company and respond to employee and department enquiries as they relate to payroll

Accounting and Finance
- Preparation of financial statements in compliance with ASPE
- Tracking, analyzing and reporting Capital Assets/Property, Plant and Equipment, and Inventory
- On-going cash flow planning
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset listing and amortization schedules
- Assist with Year End preparation and reporting for external accountants
- Variance analysis, balance sheet account reconciliations and other ad hoc financial reporting as required
- Assist with treasury requirements, including bank reconciliations, managing weekly cheque runs, cash transfers, foreign currency, cash forecasting and reporting
- Development, training, and management of accounting team members
- Develop and maintain all accounting policies and business processes for internal controls
- Develop and document new ideas that align with organizational strategies to improve financial work processes while incorporating finance best practices
- Manage and oversee corporate credit card
- Manage and oversee Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable including liaising with clients to ensure timely collections, escalating to leadership team when required
- Assist with ERP implementation

SR&ED Finance Lead
- Collecting and maintaining records of activities and financial expenses related to work eligible for the Canadian ‘SR&ED (Scientific Research & Experimental Development) Tax Incentive Program’
- Attend technical interviews, assist in ensuring that all eligible projects are uncovered, and ensure all essential financial information required is gathered for the preparation of the SR&ED claim
- Working with our technical team to identify eligible SR&ED expenditures and collaboratively preparing supporting documents for SR&ED claims
- Differentiate between routine operations and genuine experimentation to identify qualifying activities and projects. Ensuring all eligible costs (direct and support costs) are identified and supported
