The Wire/EDM Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Wire Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM) to produce high-quality precision parts. This role requires expertise in machine operation, programming, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient production and adherence to specifications.
- Set up and operate Wire Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM) to perform machining operations according to job specifications;
- Review technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feed rates for each job;
- Prepare work pieces by securing them on the machine and aligning them accurately using measuring tools;
- Program and input necessary parameters into the EDM machine, including cutting paths, electrical current, and machine settings;
- Monitor the EDM process, ensuring proper wire tension, alignment, and flushing of debris to maintain optimal cutting conditions;
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications;
- Conduct routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacing worn components;
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions or deviations from expected results, making adjustments or seeking assistance as needed.

**Salary**: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
