Reporting to the Manager of Indirect Purchasing, the Buyer-Storekeeper is responsible for the supply of spare parts (including inventory), indirect supplies and external labour, for our Toronto and Calgary plants, following corporate contracts/agreements and policies.
He/she works in collaboration with local maintenance teams and other departments (Quality, R&D, HR, etc.), that require his/her service to take daily needs and emergencies in charge, with a cost’s reduction approach.

**Key activities**:
- Manage MRP of spare parts inventory.
- Supply consumables used by maintenance/operations.
- Process one-time requests required by different departments.
- Follows up with internal requesters and suggest more efficient/less expensive alternatives if possible.
- Track late/past due order (weekly basis).
- Manage invoices exceptions.
- Keep updated supplier information’s and material/supplier associations.
- Find new supply sources (sourcing).
- Enter receipts in the system and place/dispatch the goods.
- Check and confirm quantities and specifications of orders delivered to the storeroom. Follow up with the supplier if necessary.
- Make sure stocks comply to the required specifications.
- Ship back noncompliant/broken goods and make sure we receive credit accordingly.
- Proceed and manage cycle counts, try to resolve discrepancies and do annual tracking.
- Standardize materials keep in stock to avoid duplicates and reduce stock levels.
- Remove all unwanted materials following any equipment removal/modification and try to get credits from the supplier for remaining items.
- Keep storeroom well organized.
- Analyze inventory on a regular basis and optimize turnover with the target of reducing dead stock and slow movers.
- Collaborate in the approval of new material additions and raise material creation.
- Generate and analyze corporate KPIs for purchasing and inventory.
- Take initiatives with storeroom and inventory management improvement as targets and be part of those currently being implemented or already implemented at corporate level.
**Required training and experience**:
- Procurement degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in the supply chain/stock management.
- Knowledge of spare parts.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, fluency in French (an asset).
- Computer skills: Office Suite (especially Microsoft Excel) and Interal software (procurement module).
