Description:
The Niagara North Family Health team is looking for a creative, innovative and highly motivated Mental Health Counselor with experience in the delivery of mental health services to work in our collaborative care model. This individual will complement our team in the delivery of individualized counseling. This position would provide opportunities for individual and group program innovations in the area of mental health.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work or a degree in the Social Sciences or Nursing
- Registered with College of Social Workers or other relevant Registered College
- Counseling/therapy experience preferably in a community setting
- Proficiencies in assessment, psychotherapy, and psychological counseling techniques for working with individuals, couples and families.
- Superior leadership, organization, research, evaluation, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience using cognitive behavioural therapy as well as other mindfulness-based approaches including DBT, ACT.
- Strong knowledge of community resources in mental health
- Familiarity with Mac OS environment and prior experience and knowledge of the electronic health record an asset
- Teaching and experience facilitating groups an asset
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a busy multidisciplinary team
Pay: $75,800.00 per year
