The primary responsibility of the SAP Application & Infrastructure Analyst II is to ensure the optimal performance of the system, facilitating seamless day-to-day operations for various business areas within the City.

- Perform complex end-to-end delivery/design and maintenance for SAP ERP systems within the scope of expertise
- Execute operational projects and planned enhancements as determined by management
- Actively maintain recognised expert-level knowledge in one or more identifiable specialisms
- Provide definitive and expert advice in their specialist area(s)
- Lead and assist in the definition, development and management of technical requirements
- Assess and analyze release components
- Provide expertise and input to detailed technical planning for release management to ensure there are no conflicts
- Help with production of specifications of cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers and interfaces
- Create traceability records, from test cases back to requirements
- Produce test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services
- Provide required updates to all documentation, including scripts and tools used or maintained by the help desk
- Prioritize and diagnose incidents according to agreed procedures
- Investigate causes of more complex incidents and seek resolution
- Escalate unresolved incidents
- Use available resources to update knowledge of any relevant field and curate a personal and shared collection of relevant material
- Participate in and lead research communities
- Perform other related duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Information Technology, Computing Science or a related discipline and 4 years relevant experience, **OR**:

- Post secondary diploma in a related discipline and 5 years relevant experience, **OR**:

- 1 year related certificate and 7 years relevant experience
- Technical experience in a computing environment similar to the City of Edmonton's having:
- Proficiency in SAP ABAP Programming including a strong understanding of ABAP syntax, data dictionary objects, and SAP development methodologies is required
- Strong knowledge of SAP modules and functionality, such as SAP ECC (Enterprise Central Component), SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/BI (Business Warehouse/Business Intelligence), SAP CRM (Customer Relationship Management), etc.
- Experience with SAP technologies like SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, SAP HANA, SAP Gateway, etc. is required
- Understanding of SAP integration technologies like BAPIs (Business Application Programming Interfaces), IDocs (Intermediate Documents), and ALE (Application Link Enabling) is required
- Experience working with tools like SAP ABAP Development Tools, SAP GUI (Graphical User Interface), SAP Solution Manager and SAP Business Technology Platform - Cloud Integration (BTP-CI) is preferred
- Working knowledge of database systems, particularly SAP's native database systems like SAP HANA, as well as SQL skills
- Understanding of SAP security concepts and best practices
- Experience with full lifecycle SAP implementations, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support/maintenance would be an asset
- Experience working with Application support and IT Service Management systems (e.g. BMC Remedy) is required
- Certifications in SAP S4/HANA, Fiori, ABAP, Materials Management, Ariba or Solution Manager would be considered an asset
- Canadian Information Processing Society's I.S.P. (Information Systems Professional) certification is desirable
- Certifications in, JavaScript, Python,, PowerShell, REST/SOAP, JSON, JQuery,, XtraReports, or / PL/SQL are assets
- Other technology specific certifications and diplomas related to the work would be considered an asset
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem resolution, and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service
- Excellent technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workloads, balancing both team and individual responsibilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
