We are looking for a** Buyer/Planner** - a skilled individual responsible for purchasing and maintaining inventory levels and values for our Distribution Division. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for but not limited to predictive planning, scheduling of orders and monitoring of plan capacity and advise when capacity is going to become a concern. The Buyer/ Planner is responsible to advise manufacturing of production conflicts and provide possible solutions. Buyer/Planner is responsible for ensuring the demand for purchased parts is accurate parts for the assigned assembly area.

**What You Will Do**
- Create, process, and maintain purchase orders for distribution, and shared MRO purchase orders.
- Communicate vendor ETA’s with Customer Service Team, and others when required.
- Set up new parts in Visual ERP system, once approved by regulatory
- Set up, maintain, analyze and produce vendor reports, including Supplier Scorecards.
- Supplier Scorecard maintenance includes calculating and communicating on time delivery, complaints, recalls, and certifications.
- Maintain the purchasing policy and ensure that all purchases adhere to it.
- Review freight costs and make recommendations, request quotes when applicable, arrange shipment pick-ups.
- Assist with reconciling invoices and receiving transaction discrepancies.
- Analyze, identify, and recommend purchasing strategies and inventory management techniques to reduce inventory while meeting sales demand, including safety stock management.
- Identify areas of inventory inaccuracies and make the necessary inventory adjustments as required.
- Process vendor returns and ensure all documentation is complete.
- Interact professionally with internal and external customers at all levels.
- Maintain supplier Quality Certifications on file (ISO, MDSAP), making sure they are compliant.
- Issue SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Report) when applicable to suppliers.
- Review Tier 3 expiry list monthly from finance; action where needed.
- Review Purchase Part Variance (PPV) report monthly for finance.
- The Planning & Supply Chain Manager is fully briefed on the current schedule attainment in the Assembly department.
- Supports purchasing as to stock requirements for the completion of all Assembly department orders
- Provides manufacturing lead times to customer service.
- Manages and monitors raw material relating to production plan.
- Ensures Assembly department meets the production deadlines to ensure on time customer delivery.
- Provide assembly schedules to manufacturing associates and management.
- Plan production through the use of material planning module within Southmedic’s ERP system.
- Use sales reports to project planned production requirements.
- Review inventory levels in all warehouses and plan production to replenish stock.
- Provide timelines that will address all back-order situations.
- Shall ensure any challenges in manufacturing are brought up in the daily morning manufacturing meeting and pushes for solutions to ensure solutions are implemented in a timely manner.
- Push cost saving initiatives for manufacturing that align with corporate focus/direction.
- Shall ensure that all business is performed with an attention to detail and are done in accordance with the Southmedic Quality System, mission and values.
- Provide schedule attainment metrics to manufacturing management.

**What We Need**
- College Business diploma is preferred
- Must have 3 to 5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A purchasing certification is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
- Must be computer literate and familiar with Visual, MRP or ERP systems.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office computer software programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Organizational and time management skills are essential
