**_We are looking for one (1), part time, twenty (20) hours per week, Cook (Part Time, Permanent) to join our dynamic and talented team The schedule for this position is Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 am to 6:00pm._**

**The Meaningful Work You'll Do**:
The Facility Support Worker's role is to provide a safe, clean home environment for the resident families we serve in accordance with established Shelter standards and as governed by health and safety regulations.

The Facility Support Worker ensures that basic needs of women and their children are being met by providing 3 nutritional meals a day and 3 snacks a day. This position also provides a clean and safe environment.

Primary job duties may include but are not limited to:
People serve Care/Service
- Re-direct women to their support staff for issues that are non-emergency
- Respond sensitively to clients’ emotional and physical needs
- Report health and safety concerns to Team Leader
- Order groceries/others monitoring household expenditures to meet budget.
- Follow standardized menus for meal preparation -prepare, serve, clean after meals as required. Prepare 3 meals a day and 3 snacks for families residing at the shelter
- Ensure that appropriate licensing inspections are completed in a timely fashion
- Ensure that all storage areas are organized and meet health and safety standards
- Complete general cleaning duties in accordance with established cleaning schedule
- Launder and organize kitchen laundry
- Coordinate special event meals as needed
- Take recycle bottles to Depot
- Assist in maintaining building and equipment according to Agency standards
- Report anything that requires major repairs or equipment malfunctions to Team Leader
- Cleaning common areas of shelter
- Cleaning of inside of appliances i.e. fridge, stove, microwave, etc.
- Thorough cleaning of bathrooms, laundry room, and offices
- Moving/sliding fridge/stove to clean floor under them and walls behind them.
- Moving/sliding furniture to clean floors under furniture in the common areas

Program Planning/Implementation
- Maintain staff relationships
- Attend regularly scheduled Staff Meetings
- Meet with Team Leader as required
- Effectively communicate with co-workers

Administrative Duties
- Complete necessary documentation (e.g. reports, statistics)
- Maintain shift log notes as required
- Maintain log notes of all emergency situations including detailed notes of occurrences and outcomes
- Prepare and submit Serious Occurrence reports
- Complete and submit Critical Incident Reports within 24 hours as required.

Contact with Stakeholders
- Assist in promoting positive public relations to the community
- Work collaboratively with all emergency personnel when dealing with situations
- Be helpful and polite when dealing with the Residents and all visitors to the shelter
- Participate in community/agency events as required

Other Duties
- Attend mandatory and required training

**Education and Qualifications**:

- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience working with individuals experiencing complex issues
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organization and planning skills, and attention to detail; must be able to manage multiple tasks with the ability to work independently
- Strong ethics, along with a commitment to confidentiality.
- Plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion.
- Good Communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven team player; demonstrates flexibility, and adaptability.
