**Position Summary**:
Loyalist College is seeking an experienced and dynamic **Manager, Events** to provide strategic leadership in planning, organizing, and executing events that enhance the College's brand on local, provincial, national, and international stages. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Manager will oversee all aspects of event management, ensuring alignment with Loyalist's mission and goals.
Key responsibilities include leading event logistics, directing team members, managing budgets, and coordinating non-academic space bookings—including classrooms, meeting rooms, and event venues—for both internal and external stakeholders. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping the College’s reputation through high-quality, impactful events, while also managing rental contracts and ensuring compliance with College policies

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide strategic leadership for event planning, ensuring alignment with Loyalist College's goals.
- Lead efforts to enhance event experiences for students, staff, and the community.
- Serve as the Marketing and Communications lead on committees for major College events.
- Oversee event plans, timelines, and execution, ensuring smooth project management.
- Manage event budgets, marketing strategies, and objectives within approved resources.
- Collaborate with departments to bring their event visions to life.
- Propose innovative, strategic events to meet College goals.
- Ensure event capacity and resources are effectively utilized.
- Lead the events team to build strong relationships and deliver successful outcomes.
- Coach and mentor team members to maintain service excellence.
- Manage the booking and scheduling of College spaces for non-academic use, including classrooms and event venues.
- Work closely with internal departments and external clients to optimize space usage. Prepare, negotiate, and manage rental contracts for non-academic spaces, ensuring compliance with College policies and maintaining positive client relationships.
- **Event Promotion**
- Create detailed promotion plans to drive event attendance.
- Track engagement and RSVPs to ensure promotional success.
- Update event website with current rates and costs. Maintain relationships with external vendors and community contacts
- **Administration and Management**
- Create and manage event budgets, ensuring financial efficiency.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and management of full-time, part-time, and student staff.
- Identify and recommend professional development opportunities for the team.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on staff administration, including payroll, attendance, and performance reviews.

**Qualifications**:

- Three (3) year degree or diploma in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Event Management preferred
- 7 years experience in a similar role
- Experience in public sector event management preferred
- Leading and motivating high performing teams
- Experience working in high pressure, time sensitive environment
- Exceptional interpersonal, intercultural, organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
