The Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver (EFry) is a charitable organization that supports women, girls, and children at risk, involved in or affected by the justice system. Our programs work to break the cycle of poverty, addiction, mental illness, homelessness, and crime.

**We are recruiting for a Part Time, Residential House Cleaner for our Rosewood program. **Located in Surrey, Rosewood is a 60 room shelter for women and their children. Women receive around the clock support to address their immediate crisis needs and to plan for long term housing facility.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsible in sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing surface floors.
- Maintains cleanliness of common areas (lobbies, elevators, walkways, entrance and exits, and among others).
- Spot clean walls, partitions, light switches, windows, and windowsills.
- Deep cleans and disinfects washroom facilities.
- Handles garbage & recycling collection.
- Operates cleaning janitorial equipment and other associated tools and cleaning materials.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Previous janitorial experience in residential facility will be an asset.
- Building Maintenance Training Preferred.
- Knowledgeable with the British Columbia Occupational Health & Safety Regulation.
- Demonstrates satisfactory communication skills both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated individual who gets the job well done and ability to organize work.
- Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively throughout the shift.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage and disposal is an asset.
- Ability to engage in positive and respectful working relationships with staff, colleague, and tenants.
- Valid driver’s license is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

**MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Occupational First Aid.
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status.
- Evidence of a Tuberculosis Test and compliance with the TB Control Program.
- Doctor’s Note of fitness required.
- WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Review (Vulnerable Sector Search).
