**DISPATCHER**

**NUMBER 8 FREIGHT, ABBOTSFORD, BC**

Our position has become available for a DISPATCHER at our Head Office in Abbotsford, BC.

**Position Details**:
Dispatch fleet of drivers within the Fraser Valley region
- Determining whether a trip can be done using our Number 8 Fleet or a third-party carrier.
- Communicate load plans to line haul or regional fleet operators.
- Assign freight to line haul or regional fleet and communicate plans to operators.
- Facilitate a good relationship with drivers through revenue expectation, home time, vacation etc.
- Maximize driver revenue and make it fair and equitable with all the drivers.
- Reducing empty miles for trips.
- Communicate with customers.
- Booking appointments for drivers.
- Communicate with third-party carriers and crane companies.
- Communicate with customer service representatives to ensure customer requirements are being met.
- Generate required shipping documents.
- Monitor operator compliance with applicable regulations.
- Answer all inbound calls & assist the customer with placing orders and obtaining quotes.
- Accurately obtain & input all necessary information pertaining to each order.
- Assist Accounting/Sales clarify and correct billing and rate discrepancies.
- Assist other departments by relaying information to customer as needed or requested.
- Providing Proof of Delivery as requested.
- Generating Sales Leads for new ongoing accounts.
- Working as a team player to ensure that the customer is taken care of to the service standard set by Number 8 Freight.
- Other duties as assigned.

**We require**:

- Prior experience Dispatching local Pickup and Delivery
- Knowledge of regulations governing the transportation industry in BC
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong commitment to the principles of safety and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of the Fraser Valley commercial areas an asset.

This position provides a competitive salary, 40 hours a week (no evening or weekends), benefits, and profit share.

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
