Early Childhood Educator - Parmanent Part-Time, minimum 20 hours/week
YMCA Calgary - Multiple Locations
**Salary**: $15.00 to $19.09/hour (depending on Early Childhood Educator certification level) + associated provincial hourly wage top up

What qualifications are we looking for?
- Early Childhood Educator certification (Level 1, 2 or 3);
- Experience working with children aged 12 months - 5 years in a licensed child care setting;
- A positive attitude and positive teamwork experience;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including basic computer literacy;
- Current Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months);
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search;
- Three professional references.
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
This position is permanent part-time with a guaranteed 20 hours/week. The hours will typically be mid-day, but they may vary to meet area need. YMCA Child Care Development Centres are open 7am - 6pm, Monday - Friday.
Additional hours to meet training requirements will also be scheduled.
Reporting to the Child Care Supervisor, the PT Early Childhood Educator will:
- Ensure the delivery of excellent service by identifying and responding in a professional and timely manner to the needs and wants of children and parents/guardians;
- Support young children with social and self-regulation skill development, personal care needs and to achieve developmental milestones;
- Plan and facilitate intentional, developmentally appropriate play-based learning activities;
- Maintain health and safety measures including child safety & protection standards, health management and the provision of a safe and clean environment;
- Establish and maintain effective communication standards with stakeholders and professionally represent YMCA Calgary both internally and with the broader community;
- Engage with, and support as appropriate, YMCA initiatives.
