Look no further Smash Champs Badminton Club and Pro Shop is hiring a Receptionist/Stringer. Your role is crucial in providing excellent service and devising creative solutions to elevate the comfort and convenience of the badminton and pickleball community
As a Receptionist/Stringer, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
**Duties**:
- Deliver excellent customer service by efficiently handling:
- Court bookings and event registrations
- Membership sales, profiles, and payments
- Pro shop sales, inventory, promotions, and stringing services
- Equipment rentals, inventory, and maintenance
- Customer orientation and inquiries
- Basic facility maintenance procedures
- Stay updated on industry trends, brands, products, and the technologies that differentiate them
- Offer expertise on string selection and tension for optimal gameplay tailored for each customer
- Prepare racquets for stringing from start to finish and perform routine quality control checks
- String racquets with precision in adherence to customer preferences and our approved workflow
- Collaborate daily with a team against a rigorous and steady inflow of customers and racquets
- Explore creative solutions to make using our services and amenities as seamless as possible
- Train and assess new hires in keeping with Smash Champs standards and operations
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure equipment is optimized and operational
- Navigate the Smash Champs club management software efficiently
**Job Requirements**:
- Foundational knowledge and skill in examining, preparing, and stringing badminton racquets
- An enthusiastic understanding of the sport, the individual needs of players, and the latest technology
- Patience, initiative, and strong communication skills that demonstrate professionalism and care for customers and colleagues
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering top-quality workmanship
**Stream A: For applicants who already possess knowledge and skills in stringing badminton racquets**
Applicants under this stream will be required to take and pass:
- An interview;
- A Standardized Stringing Skills Assessment by stringing a badminton racquet under 30 minutes following the Smash Champs approved workflow (a simple video guide will be provided)
**Stream B: For applicants who have no knowledge in stringing badminton racquets and require training**
Applicants under this stream will be required to take and pass:
- An interview;
- An extensive, full-time, paid training period for 4-6 weeks leading up to;
- A Standardized Stringing Skills Assessment by stringing a badminton racquet under 30 minutes following the Smash Champs approved workflow (a comprehensive training package will be provided)
**Training Program (Stream B Only)**:
- 4-6 weeks of full-time training (40 hours per week)
- A training package with written and video instructions on the Smash Champs workflow
- Hourly wage of CAD $17.40
- _ Please note that completing our training program _does not_ qualify you for employment in similar positions outside of Smash Champs_
