- As a Leader, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB), you are a dedicated visionary with a passion for championing our continuing journey toward a more equitable, inclusive, and diverse workplace. You will take the lead in executing strategies and initiatives designed to cultivate an environment where every employee is cherished, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique viewpoints and life experiences. You will be the driving force behind the advancement of EDIB throughout our organization, continuing the transformative shift in our organizational culture. Primary duties include:
- Provide progressive leadership to manage our Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging framework and strategy (EDIB).
- Develop and implement innovative and comprehensive EDIB strategies, initiatives, and action plans that align with The City's values and business goals.
- Collaborate with HR, leadership, and various teams across the organization to integrate EDIB principles into recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and career development processes.
- Establish and maintain metrics to measure the effectiveness of EDIB initiatives, regularly assess progress and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct training and workshops to raise awareness and enhance understanding of EDIB issues to foster a more inclusive and culturally competent workforce.
- Provide guidance and support to employee resource groups and affinity networks, encourage active participation in promoting diversity and inclusion within the organization.
- Act as a liaison with external organizations and communities to enhance partnerships.
- Develop and provide expertise for communication strategies to raise awareness of EDIB efforts and celebrate diversity achievements throughout the organization.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, trends, and legal requirements related to EDIB, incorporating them into our policies and practices.
- Collaborate with specified equity and diversity partner organizations and manage aligned benchmarking.
- Advance the knowledge and position of The City of Calgary as a leader in EDIB.
**Qualifications**
- A degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Social Sciences or a related discipline and at least 6 years of related experience. A master's degree will be considered an asset.
- A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
- Lived experience as a member of an underrepresented community or experience working with and as an ally for persons from an underrepresented community is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of EDIB principles, best practices, and emerging trends in diversity and inclusion as well as familiarity with applicable labor laws and regulations related to EDIB.
- Experience in a large complex organization with a unionized environment will be considered an asset.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, with the ability to use metrics to drive decision-making and measure the impact of DEI initiatives.
- Political acumen and sensitivity to cultural differences, demonstrated ability to establish collaborative relationships with rights and interest holders, and a strong desire to build a culture of inclusivity and a psychologically safe work environment.

work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
