The Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking one (1) individual to fill the position of Chronic Disease Dietitian-Term in the Health and Social Development Department.

The individual will be responsible but not limited to the following duties:

- Work as a member of the Health and Social Development team to plan, deliver, report, administer and evaluate the Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative Program and assist with the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program and Brighter Futures Program as needed.
- Travel to the six (6) First Nation communities aligned with the Yorkton Tribal Council and non-aligned communities as contracted

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition plus completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship
- Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Saskatchewan Dietetics Association or eligible to do so
- Certified Diabetes Educator or willingness to obtain certification in two (2) years
- Understanding of chronic disease prevention and treatment, and nutrition through the lifecycle
- Understanding of and ability to implement a population health approach to serving clients
- Experience in or understanding of program planning, management, and evaluation
- Knowledge of childhood and adult teaching principles with both individuals and groups
- Understanding of the social determinants of health and issues impacting First Nations people
- Openness to learning about First Nations culture
- Able to work effectively with a variety of clients, families and other health disciplines
- Able to work with a team, with self-direction and mínimal supervision
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- A valid Driver’s License is required and maintained throughout employment
