**You are**

A_ _**_Warehouse Assistant_**. The Warehouse Assistant supports the Manitoba Wheelchair Program through sorting and organizing wheelchair parts and assisting employees of the warehouse maintain efficient and safe operations. The Warehouse Assistant is a summer job placement that reports directly to the Program Manager, WCS & PPP.

**Your Role**
- Dismantling inventory of used wheelchairs, sorting and labelling parts that can be recycled.
- Assisting Wheelchair Technicians find used parts.
- Sorting, organizing, and storing wheelchair parts in the proper location. Maintaining a clean work area, free of debris, and safety hazards.
- Washing wheelchairs using power washer.
- General cleaning and organizing of the warehouse, garage, and parking lot (i.e., sweeping, power washing, lawn mowing and weeding, garbage and recycling removal).
- Cleaning and organizing work area.
- Using and maintaining tools, report any issues or concerns to Program Manager.
- Other assigned duties may fall within the scope of the position.

**What You Know**
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Ability to work well with others in a diverse team environment as well as independently.
- Mechanical skills, ability to use tools, dismantle equipment.
- Reliable and hard working.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Willing to take direction and feedback, learn new skills.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment is an asset.
- Experience with parts inventory an asset.
- Valid Manitoba driver’s license is an asset.
- Forklift certificate is an asset.
- Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
