**About Us**:
Western Engineering Outreach (WEO), within the Faculty of Engineering strives to increase the awareness of engineering, science and technology amongst young people in London and the surrounding communities. This program, funded by ACTUA, receives a great deal of sponsorship dollars from organizations in the community with the same goals.
Through elementary school workshops, community programming and summer camp programs, WEO reaches out to the community at large to promote engineering, and thus Western Engineering. Additionally, WEO offers specialized programming to reach underrepresented groups in engineering including females, Indigenous students, and those coming from at-risk communities.

**Responsibilities**:
This position supports the community programs of Western Engineering Outreach to provide outreach and engagement to youth in the London & Middlesex Community. Western Engineering Outreach provides a pathway for youth to experience Western Engineering firsthand and start their journey to potentially becoming future students at Western University. Additionally through these outreach programs Western Engineering is able to support programs for underrepresented youth (Indigenous students and students of colour, female, low socio-economic status) who otherwise would not have access.
- Key responsibilities for this position will include:
- Delivering programming to youth in grades SK-12
- Testing programming prior to delivery
- Prepping materials for programming
- Delivering programming on-site and at different locations, primarily on evening and on weekends

**Qualifications**

**Education**:
- Minimum completion of Grade 11
- Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate program preferred

**Experience**:

- Experience or demonstrated interest working with children/youth
- Demonstrated interest in science and engineering

**Skills, Abilities & Expertise**:

- Ability to follow processes with high attention to detail
- Presentation skills to deliver engaging and informative presentations that clearly explain information to audiences using appropriate communication channels
- Ability to summarize information and disseminate to others effectively in a timely manner
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills to prioritize and consistently produce high-quality work
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
- Proficient computer skills Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University's events and activities, including evenings and weekends
- G license and access to a car is considered an asset
