Facility Associate

**Purpose of the Position**:
Facility Associates are responsible for organizing and implementing general maintenance and repair on the facility and property including landscaping/snow clearing. The position includes responsibility for shipping and receiving as well; S&R is limited and required.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
Reporting to the **Operations Supervisor**, the role will be responsible for performing routine maintenance related to facility and property systems based on the season, as required. The role is also active in Shipping & Receiving, responsive to deliveries and recording them, as well as the regularly scheduled shipments.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

- Routine inspections of the facility, maintenance to the mechanical (e.g. furnace filters) and systems including accompanying service providers that are scheduled; related reports are kept current in our electronic, online system.
- Perform a variety of maintenance/minor repairs on the interior/exterior areas of the building directly or with service providers and budgets available.
- Assist in preparation of future construction, including dismantling and storage of unused equipment; general cleanup of areas not in use.
- Operate a variety of equipment to perform preventative maintenance as required. (e.g. lawn equipment)
- Promotes a safe workplace; WHMIS is a consistent guideline and long-term benefit to all.
- Recommend budgets and supplies/parts inventory to keep site functions operating, current, and functional.

**Knowledge**:

- 2+ years of facility/operations maintenance experience including outdoor, seasonal
- Able to schedules across a range of tasks
- Working in a regulated environment, use of SOPs, WHMIS or related health and safety training
- Use of materials requirement systems preferred

**Skills and Abilities**;
- Effective verbal presentation and listening: communication skills
- Attention to task details
- Problem-solving skills
- Can work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience working within a highly-regulated environment

**Working Conditions/Physical Demands**
- Constant paced environment
- May require local travel to facilitate procurement of parts, for example
- Must be able to lift 15 kg
- Fluctuation in temperature - indoor and outdoor environments in all seasons
- Noise on occasion
- May require walking or standing up to 40% of the shift
