**About the role**
As a **Claims Manager,** your claims experience and strive for excellence will help you successfully manage the day to day operations of our Property Appraisal team. Your passion for coaching, development and engagement will help strengthen team connections, keep everyone motivated to deliver second-to-none experiences for our customers and inspire people to go above and beyond in everything they do.
**What you'll do here**:
- Manage the day to day operation of the Property Appraisal teams to ensure results produced meet team, department, corporate, Provincial and regulatory standards and goals; provide regular feedback to leadership on results.
- Achieve essential business goals and meet customer service expectations.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance with a focus on indemnity and expense control, as well as, optimal customer experience.
- Work closely with the Director to develop strategies and long term/short term plans to facilitate ongoing work, process improvement, claims cost control and best in class customer experience.
- Monitor performance and productivity and report observations, progress and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Actively collaborate with vendor partners to build strong relationships and resolve customer complaints.
- Lead and actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and ensure utilization of tools and behaviors to foster critical thinking and innovation around problem solving.
- Provide effective leadership, responsible for recruiting, coaching and mentoring, performance management, continuous learning and career development for direct reports.
- Review of monthly file audits, identify opportunities and develop action plans.
- Actively participate in the management of catastrophic weather events.
**What you bring to the table**:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 5 years of management, coaching and mentoring experience - preference is within a claims environment
- Technical expertise and practical knowledge of the restoration of damaged buildings.
- Technical expertise with Xactimate is an asset
- Exceptional organization and time management skills
- Strong negotiation, project management and problem solving skills
- Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive positive change
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example
- Excellent customer, communication and interpersonal skills
