**ABOUT AT Work/Au travail**:The CMHA NS AT Work program helps Nova Scotians living with a mental illness who are unemployed or under-employed obtain competitive employment by connecting them to workplaces that match their strengths, skills, and needs to build resilience and bring experienced employees to workplaces. Working alongside both employers and clients, the AT
Work team develops an achievable action plan that supports mental wellness to ensure success.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
Reporting directly to the AT Work Lead, and in collaboration with other CMHA NS Division staff, the overarching responsibility of the Employment Support Worker (ESW) is to support people living with mental health challenges and addictions find and maintain safe and sustainable employment. We co-create a support plan with goals for the client to accomplish. These goals are both related to employment opportunities and mental health objectives. The ESW provides the clients with practical opportunities to support their success in the local labour market. They assist job seekers in developing career plans to meet clients' short and long-term labour market needs. The ESW also operates as a liaison between the client and their employer to ensure a positive working relationship. They perform outreach and recruitment initiatives to engage additional clients and employers into the program while also ensuring there is strong community and employer awareness and engagement. The role would involve planning, developing, and facilitating workshops about mental health and employment topics to clients as well as holding regular information sessions about AT Work to present to community organizations as well as employers

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
In accordance with CMHA NS policies, standards, and guidelines, the ESW is responsible for managing a caseload of individuals who self-identify mental health concerns as a primary barrier to employment.
They will also provide job development services; identify and recruit potential employers, provide assertive outreach to the community, negotiate wage subsidies, develop strategies to increase employment opportunities, and establish and maintain positive employer relationships.

**WORK SCHEDULE**: This is a full-time position, working generally from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Monday to Friday (37.5 hours/week). This position requires a combination of working in a home office environment and in community, with our community stakeholders. We offer a flexible work environment and a workplace culture committed to personal wellbeing and psychological safety.
A valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to a vehicle may be required. Reimbursement will be paid as per the Expense Policy.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**: As outlined in the Working from Home policy, the employer will provide basic equipment necessary for a home office. The employee will be required to have a suitable designated workspace and reliable high-speed internet.

**COMPENSATION**: Commensurate with experience. Range: $45,000-$50,000 ( _fair market value within the sector) _

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening, practicing empathy and understanding
- A creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Time Management and organizational skills within a flexible work environment
- Proficiency with Data Collection and Management, and Research.
- Tenacity and a “can do” attitude.
- Ability to work with a diverse, marginalized, economically disadvantaged and occasionally challenging population.
- Familiarity and interest in providing educational programming and client supports through online platforms and telephone
