**Duties**:
The Interpretive Media Officer designs, produces, and maintains non-personal media products, including exhibits, interpretative panels, audio-visual products, signs, posters, notices, maps, visitor brochures and more. Products designed by the Interpretive Media Officer enhance visitor experience at Riding Mountain National Park.
**Work environment**:
Riding Mountain National Park is located in Treaty 2 Territory, the Anishinabe homelands, where we work with the Coalition of First Nations with interests in Riding Mountain National Park to foster positive and collaborative relationships. Riding Mountain National Park protects 3,000 square kilometres of wilderness and is located approximately 3.5 hours northwest of Winnipeg
Approximately 350,000 people visit Riding Mountain National Park each year. Our dynamic and diverse staff protect and present the park. We provide visitors with quality and memorable experiences during each season of the year.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in graphic design or graphic arts, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in a field related to the position.
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in developing, designing and producing non-personal media products including print materials, signage, exhibits, audio/visual content and interpretation or information panels to enhance the visitors experience;
- Experience using design software (i.e., Adobe, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro);
- Experience working with corporate brand standards cross-functional consultation and collaboration on multiple project priorities.

KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of current and emerging trends and requirements that relate to non-personal media, new technologies and visitor engagement;
- Knowledge of mapping systems.
ABILITY:
- Ability to coordinate, plan, design, fabricate, distribute, and maintain non-personal media products;
- Ability to monitor, research and analyze trends in non-personal media and provide advice to clients;
- Ability to prepare project-related budgets;
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, partners, contractors and cross functional teams.

ASSET EXPERIENCE:
- Experience collaborating with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technicians.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to work in both an office environment and within the park when required.
- Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation.
- Willingness to occasionally work overtime and/or under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel.
**Conditions of employment**:
- Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance.
- Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment.
- Possession of a valid class 5 Driver’s Licence.
