Military Musician

**About us**

Our part-time jobs are designed for university-level music students and professional musicians. We have several part-time vacancies that we will be filling with the starting salary at approximately $21.00 per hour.

The 5th (British Columbia) Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery is a unit in the Army Reserve. We are garrisoned in Victoria, B.C. at the Bay Street Armoury. The unit participates in a number of local events - ceremonial salutes outside of parliament for dignitaries and Remembrance Day as well as unit and brigade level exercises across the country and abroad.

**Details**:

- **Part-time (Tuesday nights from 7-10pm)**:

- **Available for shifts, Tuesday rehearsals and weekend music engagements**:

- Starting at $126.90 per day with annual increases

**The primary responsibilities include**:
Perform for a wide array of domestic and international engagements including:

- Government and military parades and ceremonies
- Public concerts, shows and festivals, public events
- Military and state dinners

Perform as instrumentalists in various musical:

- Concert Bands
- Parade Band
- Stage Bands
- Dance Bands
- Brass Quintets
- Woodwind Quintets
- Jazz Combos
- Small Chamber Groups

**Minimum Requirements**

You must meet the following minimum requirements for a career in the Army Reserves:

- Be at least 18 years of age (you may be 16 years old with parental consent while maintaining status as a full-time student)
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 3-40 per week
