As a vital member of the corporate Data Management and Governance Unit, the Data Management Analyst, reporting to the Manager, Data Management and Governance, plays a pivotal role in ensuring optimal utilization of the City's data to achieve corporate objectives. The focus is on establishing a robust framework for managing data, involving people, processes, and technology to ensure consistent and proper handling of organizational data across the corporation.

- Support implementation of the corporate-wide data governance and management frameworks
- Update, maintain and ensure clear accountability and responsibilities related to data management
- Participate on the data governance and management oversight committees, providing advice with options and recommendations to address specific issues
- Assist in defining, developing, and auditing consistent data governance and management policy, methodologies, guidelines, and techniques, including documentation of business rules and associated logic
- Track data governance and management action items, issues, and priorities
- Support the implementation and integration of data management tools within the organization's IT infrastructure
- Configure and customize data management tools to align with specific business requirements and workflows, ensuring optimal functionality
- Work with third-party vendors on implementation of data management tools such as the Google Cloud Platform, Informatia, SAP products.
- Implement data models within data management tools to accurately represent the structure and relationships of the organization's data
- Oversee the metadata within data management tools, ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation of data definitions, sources, and lineage
- Acts as a specialized resource with deep skills in specific technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, AZURE, AWS, SAP products, AppSheets, Tableau. The assignment involves complex technology requirements which are generally not well defined, require thorough analysis, ingenuity, and problem determination to develop and deliver current technological solutions
- Capture business requirements and translate client problems into analytical opportunities and collaborate with client and analytic teams to set analytic objectives, approaches, and work plans
- Troubleshoot the more complex break-fix problems escalated from the lower levels
- Support portfolio projects and actively encourage teamwork
- Perform other related duties as required
**Qualifications**:
- One of the following combinations of education and experience:
- University degree in strategic planning, data governance, data management, project management, change management, business intelligence, computer science, with 1 year related experience, **OR**:
- Diploma in strategic planning, data governance, data management, project management, change management, business intelligence, computer science, with 2 years related experience, **OR**:
- Certificate in strategic planning, data governance, data management, project management, change management, business intelligence, computer science, with 4 years related experience
- Certification in strategic planning, public administration, project management, change management or other professional designation would be considered an asset
- Demonstrated experience implementing and managing effective projects and operational Initiatives
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing change and empowering resources to achieve outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in technical and business communications, including the ability to effectively consult with clients on a delivery range of business activities
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams accountable for large, politically sensitive and complex projects and processes, in a fully integrated system
- Demonstrated experience with implementing data management initiatives
- Demonstrated experience in business intelligence administration, security, analysis and design
- Experience in Cloud Analytic Software (GCP, AWS or Azure), Tableau software, Business Intelligence suite of tools such as Web Intelligence, Data Services and Data modelling, and Dimensional Modelling is highly desirable
- Knowledge in Scripting Language such as T-SQL, PL/SQL is highly desirable
- Experience in Oracle RDBMS or SQLBase is highly desirable
- Experience in End to-End Solution design, Technical Spec preparation, Realization and Deployment for SAP Master Data solution (i.e. Material Master) using SAP Ecosystem (SAP MDG, SAP S/4, SuccessFactors etc.) is highly desirable
