**Position Description**

**Divisional Controller** supporting the Regional Controller - Solid Waste in preparing financial reporting and full cycle accounting for e360 Alberta Ltd. Ensuring full compliance and completeness of reports so managers make informed decisions regarding day-to-day activities.

**In this position**:

- You will interact with employees from all aspects of the business including Operations, Sales, Dispatch, and Customer Service.
- Provide analysis and recommendations for continuous improvement of financial information and internal control.
- Work closely with Regional Controller supporting the month-end close per corporate timelines.
- Provide technical accounting support for special projects as needed by the Regional Controller and Corporate finance team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Meet all monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines as required by Head Office, including monthly reconciliations, monthly and quarterly reporting, financial analysis, year-end reporting, etc.
- Analyze financial results and identify cost drivers.
- Assist with monitoring the operational results of Solid Waste locations.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting packages.
- Review and approve monthly technical and complex accounting journal entries.
- Prepare customized excel reports to facilitate analysis and reporting.
- Support regulatory requirements - prepare GST, statistical reporting.
- Coordinate external audits in conjunction with corporate office.
- Support capital spend requests, maintain fixed assets continuity schedules and amortization tables. Review and record monthly amortization.
- Support Treasury functions - EFT, On-line Bill Payments, cheques, daily cash management, weekly cash position report and approve bank reconciliations.
- Assist with year-end financial reporting, any required adjustments.
- Review, and support, due diligence and business combination accounting for acquisitions as required while working with corporate acquisition team.
- CPA designation with bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or another business-related field.
- 5+ years of progressive work experience.
- Advanced skills in Excel including but not limited to PivotTable and V-lookup. Highly skilled in standard office software (MS Office, SharePoint, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage priorities, perform a variety of tasks and meet required deadlines and targets,
- Detail oriented, self-motivated with a strong desire to be successful.
- Full-cycle accounting experience with knowledge of ASPE and IFRS.
- Experience with Sage 300 or relevant ERP system are considered an asset.
- Knowledge of or exposure to the waste management industry, considered an asset.
