Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Post-secondary education in political science, business administration, communications and public administration. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Experience developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies and producing effective marketing and communication tools.
- Excellent written communication skills and experience assisting professionals to produce documents that convey complex, technical content in an easy to understand, creative manner.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to actively listen and convey ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience managing multiple projects effectively and prioritizing work in consultation with others in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience building effective working relationships, consulting and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information through the use of sound judgment and political acumen.
- Ability to work with legislation, policy, and data including researching, providing analysis and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Project management skills and the ability to lead multi-stakeholder groups to achieve project objectives within pre-determined deadlines.

**Desired**:

- Knowledge of Manitoba’s CFS system and Indigenous cultures is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of current research and best practices in communications.
- Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in French.

**Duties**:
The Engagement Specialist supports the provincial Child and Family Services (CFS) system by planning, designing, and implementing both internal and external communications and engagement activities as they relate to departmental CFS initiatives and investments. The position works and regularly consults with Manitoba Finance’s Communication and Engagement Division (CED) to ensure work is aligned and follows government guidelines and directives.
