Youth Program Coordinator

The Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for the efficient and effective management of youth cases referred by the Court Probation Office and Youth Justice Services Division youth programs. Plans and implements BGC Youth programs. This individual is responsible for Intake, Assessment and Selection of participants as well as the delivery of the Group Based Psychotherapeutic Workshops. This individual will focus on the life skills element of the program and work directly with the clients either individually or in a group setting to enhance their understanding and participation in their communities and/or workplace. They will ensure that all work is carried out with the context of the agency’s Mission statement, board approved policies and organizational practices.
- Works with youth and volunteers to administer the Extra Judicial Sanctions and Extra Judicial Measures programs in accordance with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services and WSNCC guidelines
- Plan and implement services and programs for participants between the ages of thirteen to twenty-nine
- Conducts client intake, risk and suitability assessment, referral and follow up
- Supervises youth participating in the in-house program
- Advocates on the client’s behalf when making a referral or conducting outreach
- Ensures the placement of clients with an appropriate community program
- Monitors the youth’s progress by consulting with the client, parent/guardian and placement supervisor
- Reports client’s progress to the Court Probation Officer
- Handles confidential data, maintains documentation, records statistics and prepares quarterly reports
- Prepare and submit grants, seek out new funding sources and ensures the continuance of existing funding
- Develop promotional materials as needed. Ensure all promotional materials meet agency standards
- Participate and support initiatives of the West Scarborough Neighbourhood Community Centre, the BGC of Canada as appropriate
- Participate in and support program-specific fundraising initiatives
- Prepare program reports for the Divisional Coordinator as required
- Ensure the safety of employees and participants
- Attend staff meetings, committees, agency-wide initiatives and training as required
- Ensure all incidents involving staff, volunteers, and/or participants are immediately reported and/or documented according to legislative and agency requirements
- Provide training, leadership and guidance to staff and volunteers as required
- Submit reports and/or proposals by specified deadlines under the guidance of the Divisional Coordinator of the Youth Justice Services Department.
- Participates in agency-wide committee(s)
- Attends Volunteer Recognition Night, Annual General Meeting and participates in UW Campaign
- Participates in and supports divisional and agency-wide special events and fundraising initiatives
- Ensures an approach that displays a positive attitude, sensitivity and understanding towards people of all abilities, backgrounds and orientation
- Carries out other duties as assigned by the supervisor

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $16.55-$33.33 per hour
