The **General Contracting** division at Thomas Cavanagh Construction has proudly provided comprehensive general contracting and construction management services to the community for over a decade. Our privileged engagement extends to overseeing and constructing projects for external clients, as well as contributing internally to various divisions within the Cavanagh organization.
The **Project Manager** is responsible for managing and reporting on multiple construction projects while maintaining client and trade partner relationships in the industry.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Provide overall construction management from pre-construction to completion including design, coordination, budget, and schedule in conjunction with all stakeholders.
- Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for Owners, and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings.
- Meet with Owners and Consulting teams in a professional manner and communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company.
- Monitor, interpret and forecast a project’s cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow.
- Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing development and progression.
- Engage and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure common goals are achieved and corporate interests are kept in mind.
- Participate in business development with other internal team members to help build and grow the General Contracting division.
- Manage, mentor and train internal staff.
- Maintain up to the minute project information using Autodesk Build project management software and Microsoft Project for scheduling.
- Help estimating with tendering and job showings as needed.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects in the ICI or Condo/Apartment Building industry.
- Architectural or Engineering diploma or degree is considered an asset.
- Maintain extensive knowledge and understanding of CCDC Contracts and Construction Law.
- A passion for interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership development.
- Impeccable integrity.
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
- Strength in analysis and creative problem solving.
- Experience with COR (Certificate of Recognition) considered an asset.
