We’re seeking a **Maintenance Manager **to join our team. The Maintenance Manager will play a crucial role in upholding the operational efficiency and safety of the facility by effectively maintaining all aspects of the physical plant, equipment and associated utilities. The Maintenance Manager is a key position who must be a self-starter with great energy, a mechanical aptitude, and someone who enjoys working with mínimal supervision.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Maintenance**:
- Diagnose and correct mechanical problems including upgrades to machinery and installing new equipment in fast paced environment to minimize downtime
- Perform a variety of basic to moderately complex maintenance and repair operations needed to keep the facilities, mobile equipment, and production equipment operating efficiently;
- Identify and troubleshoot and repair equipment, including disassembling and reassembling machinery, replacing bearings, seals, etc
- Repair and/or replace malfunctioning machinery parts through preventative maintenance program or ad hoc maintenance requirements and perform equipment overhauls;
- Implement and continually improve a year round maintenance and preventative maintenance schedule interpreted from maintenance manuals and technical specifications while maintaining budget and documentation of maintenance tasks;
- Interact regularly with Production and other departments to ensure equipment and systems are functioning properly, downtime is minimized and critical items are prioritized correctly;
- Completes after hours technical support, troubleshooting and repairs as necessary
**Additional Duties**:
- Operate CO2, Boiler, Steam, and Air systems in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure
- Identifying required parts, purchasing and picking up from suppliers as necessary
- Responsible for obtaining contractor quotations, execution and validation of services and manage external contractors for activities in area
- Complete daily inspections of boilers, chillers, maintaining required chemical levels and ensuring inspections are documented
**Health & Safety**:
- Ensuring all maintenance endeavors are undertaken in accordance with ESA standards, Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
- Creation and maintenance of safe operating procedures for the maintenance department
- Champion a clean and tidy facility including general cleaning responsibilities and areas for continuous improvement
- Ensuring staff are working in a safe environment, using proper body mechanics and addressing concerns in conjunction with the JHSC
**Key Competencies Required**:
- Demonstrated hands on experience and skills troubleshooting and repairing different types of equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing/food processing environment
- Strong understanding of and experience in preventative maintenance of brewing and packaging equipment
- Schedule flexibility
- able to work overtime, weekends and during after hours equipment breakdowns
- Leadership experience within a production environment is a must
- Robust understanding of continuous improvement processes and methodologies would be an asset
- Exceptional focus, organizational skills, communication and results driven with a sense of urgency
- Excellent interpersonal skills - must be a dynamic team player
**Qualifications**:
- Licensed Skilled Trade or Technical Post-Secondary Education
- Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment - ideally food production
- Able to perform physical job duties including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs, bending/stooping, climbing ladders, grasping and reaching using wrists, hands, shoulders and/or fingers
- Able to work in elevated areas
- Able to work in hot and cold conditions
- Forklift/Walkie Certification (an asset)
- Proven history of strong work ethic, self-starting and possess strong problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office operating systems
**Salary**: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
