- In your first three months as Manager, Claims, you will:_
- Begin to learn and understand the HEB Manitoba Disability & Rehabilitation Plan (long term disability plan); Plan Text; and in-house system.
- Get to know your Claims Specialist team as well as the other teams that make up the D&R department.
- Support the coordination of your team’s workload objectives.
- Provide your Assistant Director with updates on department goals, targets and metrics.
- Your responsibilities will increase:_
- Responsible for the daily management of a Claims Specialist team by working with your team to ensure turnaround times are adhered to, giving staff direction on workload management, challenging cases, department workflow and processes.
- Effectively manage employee relations and conduct both annual and informal performance meetings with your team.
- Contribute to a dynamic work environment by identifying opportunities to improve processes to better meet our service excellence and quality.
- Become a member of the senior management team and actively participate to address organizational priorities.
- Interact with other departments to ensure priorities are aligned and strong relationships are developed.

**Qualifications for Your Success**:

- Experience & Education_
- A minimum of eight years of experience managing disability claims in accordance with current and emerging disability management practices and standards.
- A minimum of five years related leadership experience with applicable supported education.
- Completion of a related Allied Health post-secondary degree or Nursing degree
- Completed or working towards National Institute of Disability Management and Research (NIDMAR) designation would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge, Competencies & Skills_
- Proven ability to organize priorities and manage a comprehensive workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong presentation and business communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning.
