About the Role:
An exciting opportunity to join and play a key role within our team. The
**HR Advisor** provides guidance to our various business partners within Sifton Properties Limited to gather information, problem-solve situations, and propel discussions forward on various topics such as
**Health and Safety, Disability Management and WSIB cases.** They will offer solutions to enhance and promote our family-based culture and HR departmental goals.

As a HR Advisor you will:

- Take an active role in developing best practice HR strategies, reviewing policies to evaluate processes and procedures and make recommendations of change that aligns and supports the Sifton Properties Limited brand.
- Analyze and provide insights with HR data and future dashboards for reporting on Health & Safety and Disability Management cases.
- Co-ordinate the disability management process for occupational and non-occupational absences. Liaise as required with managers, employees, consultants, WSIB staff and others involved in the process, to determine and implement an effective return to work strategy. Prepare all forms and correspondence with WSIB to maintain claim status records, insurance carriers and others, ensuring reporting obligations are met.
- Research and recommend best practice solutions in HR programs, workplace processes and policy development to provide up to date advice to business partners. Specifically provide guidance in the areas relating to employee issues, disability questions, policy and contract interpretation, conflict situations, attendance issues, coaching and disciplinary discussions
- Participate in Corporate committees designed to collaborate, build connections, solicit feedback about ongoing initiatives to create process improvements and develop and deliver appropriate policies.

Experience & Qualifications:

- Completed degree/diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline with demonstrated experience and working knowledge of HR best practices. CHRP designation is preferred.
- At least 5 years’ experience in Human Resources (employee relations, understanding compensation, health & safety, disability management)
- Acts as professional advisor to the business partners with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact well with team members and relate well to people from all levels of an organization to form strong business partnerships with managers and promote strong employee engagement.
- Excellent critical thinking, coaching and conflict resolution skills.
- High attention to detail; strong writing and proofreading skills, accuracy in collecting, analysing and reporting data and documentation, particularly for WSIB.
- Excellent computer/systems proficiency, particularly Microsoft office, HRIS systems.
- Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Professional discretion and trustful manner in all interpersonal activities and matters related to confidential and sensitive information
