Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller is responsible for the implementing best practices for the accurate and efficient accounting, consolidation and financial reporting for the Company in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards. The Assistant Controller ensures excellent team work, motivation, professional development and managing other employment-related issues with the Accounting and Reporting team. is responsible for managing the accounting team Company’s accounting and financial reporting, including accounting policies and procedures.

Main Accountabilities:

- Manage the accounting and reporting team to ensure that work is accurate, timely and efficient
- Lead the development of team members and ensure excellent team work
- Ensure that accounting practices are in compliance with Company policies and procedures, while encouraging continuous improvement opportunities
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and recommend improvements to internal controls documentation
- Prepare accurate and timely quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and management discussion and analysis documents
- Oversee technical accounting matters
- Oversee all tax compliance and other government filings
- Other responsibilities and matters as assigned by the Controller and/or CFO from time to time

Main Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance and/or Accounting required
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in in accounting/reporting role of a public company reporting under IFRS, including supervision of staff
- CPA designation required
- Strong knowledge of IFRS
- Excellent computer skills, including Excel and Word and experience with large ERP systems
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Mine industry experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication and analytical skills
- Ability and willingness to meet deadlines
